HARKing - Hypothesizing After Results are Known
Is it a problem?  Note, this article was written in 1998 before the recent surge in the field for reproducible science.  Was the author prescient about one of the potential problems facing science?  Or is HARKing much ado about nothing?  Your answers to whether the practices are "good" vs. "bad" science can be separate from whether you think the behavior is "ethical" or "unethical."  Check out the article here.

Issues in Scientific Method:

Estimating the reproducibility of psychological science
Last year our lab was apart of a global endeavor to estimate the rate at which findings from major psychological journals could be replicated. Our contribution was but one replication out of the 100 but we were proud to play a part in this unprecedented endeavor.  We would like for you to read the original article here. Please think about what you think the implications are of these findings for our field.  However, we would also like you to pick one of the over 190 news/blog outlets to cover this project to get an appreciation of how science gets translated in the media. Take your pick from this google news tracker here.
