Dr. Tawny McCleon Associate Professor of Counseling and Educational Psychology
Dr. McCleon received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Psychology (APA-accredited; NASP Approved) from Mississippi State University in 2007. Dr. McCleon began as an Assistant Professor on tenure track at Mississippi State University in 2009 and promoted to an Associate Professor in 2015. Dr. McCleon also is the Director of the Assessment Clinic in the Mississippi State University School Psychology Services Center.
Dr. McCleon teaches graduate courses at Mississippi State University and supervises graduate students practicing in schools and graduate assistants. While at Mississippi State, she has been active in the Mississippi Association for Psychology in the Schools as the President-Elect (2015) and Past President (2011). Over the past few years, Dr. McCleon has consulted with the state educational agency and several local school districts by conducting various training on addressing academic, behavioral and emotional issues. Dr. McCleon is MDE Licensed School Psychologist, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and a nationally certified PREPaRE School Crisis Trainer.
